"Modern education is premised strongly on materialistic values. It is vital that when educating our children’s brains that we do not neglect to educate their hearts, a key element of which has to be the nurturing of our compassionate nature." - Dalai Lama

  1. My top 5 Strengths are Positivity, Arranger, Woo, Harmony, and Relator. I plan to use my top 5 strengths alot. I think my strengths will be very useful in college, and even after college. They are longtime strengths that I will always have.
Positivity- I can always look for the possitive in every situation I will be in.
Arranger- I will be able to manage many situations I encounter and be able to take on many tasks at once.
Woo- Meeting new people in college is a plus, I will be making lifelong friends, and striking up conversations will be effetive anywhere you go.
Harmony- I hate confrontation and on some things you will have to agree with people even though you know that they are wrong. I am a down to earth person.
Relator- I will find a connection with many people and take many steps to find a real friendship with others.

  2. According to the strengths finder quiz, my top five strengths are Adaptability, Intellect, Strategic, induvidualization, and achiever. However, I dont think I wil be able to use them to become a more affective student. First of all, my "strengths" that I was told of were givin to me from a company that publishes dozens of self-help/self-reflection books, and makes probably reaps a large profit from the books and quizzes offered. So if the quiz that I took was designed to make money, coming from a book that was designed to make money, jow credible should I take these answers for?

Even if my strengths are which I am told they are from the quiz, I cannot specifically target each one as a single or all as a whole to become a more affective student, because if my strengths are what I am told they are, I developed them on my own from the grace of God. If my strengths are what I am told they are, Then they are what make up my personality-they are what makes me me and I surley would use them everyday. Becomng a more affective student isn't targeting my "strengtha", its desire to become more affective myself.

  3. After taking the test, I discovered my strengths are Significance, Developer, Includer, Discipline, and Context. All of these five strengths really define who I am, and they also will help guide me down the right path to becoming a better student.
I plan to use my first strength, significance, the most. This strength intails being significant in the eyes of others, and wanting to be known and appreciated. In order for me to complete those tasks to make myself happy and satisfied, I have to do credible things that will make me seen by my peers, and professors. These things might include going to their offices to ask questions, emailing them to make sure I am on the right track, participating in class discussions, or even just turning my work in on time, as expected.
My next few strengths are a little more challenging to incorporate in a classroom setting. As a developer, and an includer however, they will kind of work together in my favor. I can try to hint towards students as I talk aloud in class so their opinions are heard to, or just their voice at that. Once that student has started talking, then that might open the door for another student, and just start a chain reaction. From that, I will gain more knowledge, and also see ideas in perspectives I had never thought of before.
Discipline and Context however will take me down another road. With discipline, it isn't just that I need to be organized, but it bothers me when my classes aren't structured and organzied as well, because it throws off my order of events. Context then comes into play and makes me think back to a time when things were easier, and how I can apply those times to what is going on now, and grow from there.
I don't have any questions about strengths quest, expcept how they do it! It is simply amazing for me to see that my strengths can truely be defined!

  4. My top five strengths after taking the test were: Relator, Consistency, Positivity, Achiever, and Harmony. In school my strengths will help me a lot! My consistency strength will help me keep up with my grades and stay consistent on my homework. When and if I receive a bad grade my positivity strength will help keeping me happy and remind myself not to get down on myself. My achiever strength will help me set and achieve my goals. These strengths were right on the money. I was so surprised when I read them, because they were so similar to what I thought they would be.

  5. My strengths were Input,Restorative, Adaptability,Communication and Strategic. I can use input to collect information; as I already do with info on random subjects; particularly with research on folklore as a hobby. My restorative ability can come in handy for making things look nice; to fix things up and go a different route such as with my artwork. Adaptability is something that I use in my day to day life; as I just take things as they come and deal mainly with the present. I also use communication in my day to day life; allowing me to express my ideas and feelings in what I assume to be a coherent manner (though occasionally some disagree). This can be used during regular conversation or among other students during in class discussions. Lastly, the strategy skill can help me plan for the future. I am always asking "what if?" "Why?" or "How?" etc and the goal to have these questions answered gives me drive and will thus help me to succeed.

I haven't any questions about the strengths test
