"Modern education is premised strongly on materialistic values. It is vital that when educating our children’s brains that we do not neglect to educate their hearts, a key element of which has to be the nurturing of our compassionate nature." - Dalai Lama

  1. I perceive, that things that are different or not understood should be, at least, partly looked into. Often times when you present someone with something new or something they do not understand they will react in one of three ways: Intrigue, indifference or on the other end of the spectrum- fear. There is a fear reaction to things that aren't understood and even to things that are considered "bad" simply for the fact that they aren't. There is no evidence as to why one should not look into some things or be curious about new subjects. Most people however are satisfied with the "Because that's how it is" sort of answers.

I perceive this differently because I disagree. Simply because one does not understand something does not mean that we should fear it or that we should disregard it completely. Knowledge is found when you look to understand some that was not previously understood.

  2. Back home myself and a few of my friends golfed everyday, at our local golf course. out there we would hang out with guys our parents age and even our grandparents age! We loved it tho, they were very funny and always trying to have a "good time" All of our other friends that didnt golf with us thought we were weird for always hanging out with the older guys. They would get mad at us because we were always out there with them golf and etc. All our friends perceived these guys as old boring guys when in all reality there were alot of fun to be around
